Education
I attended Stanford University and UC San Diego Medical School. My ophthalmic residency was at University of Oregon Health Science Center. I am board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Professional Focus
My special interests are glaucoma care and cataract surgery. Glaucoma tends to be a chronic problem, managed over a long period of time. One of the reasons I enjoy the glaucoma part of my practice is the opportunity to really get to know by patients as their lives change over many years.
Personal Interests
My immediate family is the center of my life outside medicine. My wife is a teacher and business owner of Tone, a fitness studio in Santa Rosa. We have three grown children and two grandchildren. Of our children, the oldest is a winemaker, the second an actress and dancer. The youngest is an elementary school teacher.
An interesting thing about me
I was an acrobat and trampolinist as a child. I was a national champion high school gymnast and an All-American at Stanford. I got to travel far and wide with my friends as a young athlete, have a lot of fun and make many great memories.
